The Ministry of National Defense has stated today (20^th) that Major General Lin, dean of the National Defense Medical Center, acted ludicrously during intoxication when he boarded the High Speed Rail at night on the 18^th and affected adjacent passengers with his inappropriate words and actions, which has severely damaged the reputation of both himself and the medical center. The Ministry of National Defense has transferred Dean Lin from his current position and assigned him as a committee member of the Army Command Headquarters, who will be subject to investigation in order to clarify the course of events and punished in accordance with the regulations.

The Ministry of National Defense emphasized that high-ranking cadres must have a high standard for their words and actions, therefore the ministry hereby deeply regrets and apologizes for Major General Lin’s misconducts that has damaged the reputation of the military and resulted in poor social perception; the ministry will thoroughly review on the cause and use this case as a propaganda example to prevent similar incidents from occurring again in the future.
